Compensation

In the late 1960s and early 1970s we finally received some personal compensation for our disabilities. For the average victim the sum was around £13,000, hardly a fortune even then. Worse however was that this paltry amount had been reduced in a settlement forced upon our parents. It represented just 40% of that which we should have received. Why? The drug company vehemently denied it was responsible for the tragedy, saying it had no reason to believe that the drug was causing the dreadful birth defects.  

But, that was a lie. In 2012 documents were unsealed in Australia that conclusively proved that the drug manufacturer and the distributor (Distillers now owned by Diageo) knew this was not true. We were conned out of our 60% and we want that remedied.

By reducing the compensation based on this lie Distillers, kept £8.5 million pounds to use as it wished. Today that money effectively sits in Diageo and could be equal to about £1.7 billion.  

We are asking Diageo to put right this clear wrong and pay us what we are owed.
